Our Roshim
Our roshim [heads] look after the organising of the Yeshiva, each focusing on specific areas of Queer Yeshiva life.
We hope to update this webpage soon with some more information about each of us!
Elana
Rosh Pedagogy
Feygl
Rosh Welfare
Natasha
Rosh Logistics
Reuben
Rosh Logistics
Reuben currently holds joint awards for best dressed Rosh, and most likely to tell you to stop working so hard. He sits on the logistics team, but is particularly interested in the intersection of logistics, welfare and accessibility.
Yael
Rosh Tefillah
Yael, our resident neo-chassid, is co-Rosh Tefillah. She exists at the intersection of Jewish and Islamic mysticism. She loves teaching, currently runs the Bnei Mitzvah course with Lev, and leads the team responsible for the spiritual character of the QY.
Lota
Rosh Co-ordination
Lota attended last summer’s intensive and the Judaism she found was the Judaism she desired. She is now Rosh Co-ordination, ensuring this year’s intensive runs smoothly and curating an experience for everyone to enjoy. Lota is passionate about teaching her secondary school students and fights for access to progressive sex education.
Our teams
Our leadership teams help keep the Queer Yeshiva running. They are drawn from members of our community, and are involved in the different working groups headed by our Roshim. The current groups are:
Logistics team (headed by Natasha)
Tefila team (vacant)
Welfare team (headed by Feygl)
Teachers team (headed by Elana)
Please email info@yeshiva.lgbt if you are in our community and interested in joining the logistics, tefila or welfare team.
