The Queer Yeshiva is building something brand new in the UK: multi-day Jewish learning from an explicitly Queer lens.

We are reaching Jews most on the fringes of existing communities. Over half our community identifies as trans or non-binary, as do nearly two-thirds of our leadership group. Half of our community has a disability, and three-quarters had never studied Talmud before coming to Queer Yeshiva.

Participants described coming to our last Summer Intensive as healing and transformative. For many, it gave them a path towards accessing Judaism for the first time.

I think Queer Yeshiva gave the space for everyone to get what they needed: it wasn’t prescriptive, and I watched so many people go through, in different ways, their own version of what happened to me: a part of myself that was craving community and Jewishness and spirituality was healed. I feel a bit more whole.

At our last Summer Intensive, one third of students received a financial scholarship to enable them to join us. With the cost of living crisis biting, we anticipate need to be even higher this year. It would break our hearts to have to turn anyone away due to lack of resources. Please consider making a donation to support the Queer Yeshiva and enable us to offer as many scholarship places as possible.
